Technology Refresh / Virtualization
Our client had an aging hardware environment, which was being pushed to its limits on a daily basis. They desired to replace every single piece of hardware and introduce virtualization technology to pool resources, consolidate servers, and reduce the overall cost of operation.
The Kelso Group provided project management and oversight, including impact assessment, scheduling, and communication of the necessary downtime to upgrade and/or virtualize each system. We worked with the client's technical staff to orchestrate a very high-impact project on a very aggressive schedule.
The project was completed on time, under budget, and with very little impact to business operations. The client had a completely refreshed hardware environment, with more than 75% of their systems virtualized, and a 100% reduction in the number of performance-related service desk tickets. It was said to be the first major upgrade of any kind in that organization that was nearly transparent to business users.
